Cancer Research UK & Vinehealth working together to support people living with cancer

London UK 9.00 AM 6th December 2022: Vinehealth, the leading digital oncology company that is transforming life with cancer through technology, and Cancer Research UK (CRUK), the world’s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving lives, have formed a partnership to better support people living with cancer. Together, they will provide cancer patients access to expert supportive information, as well as enable them to better track, manage and understand their care through the Vinehealth digital app.

Cancer diagnoses are on the rise and set to double from 2 million in 2010 to 4 million in the UK by 2030¹. Since COVID-19, it has become clear that healthcare services today are stretched, leading to diagnosis and treatment delays that can have a profound effect on people living with cancer. Now more than ever, those going through cancer need solutions and support that helps them feel empowered to understand and manage their care alongside the current cancer care model.

Vinehealth provides exactly this. Co-developed with hundreds of cancer patients as well as with NHS oncologists, Vinehealth helps patients feel more confident and in control and informs their clinicians with better data to make more timely and personalised decisions. The Vinehealth mobile app supports patients and their loved ones through their cancer journeys by allowing them to more easily manage and understand their care. The app helps people record their symptoms and side effects and facilitates communicating these to their care team. The app also delivers reminders about medications and appointments and provides reliable, up-to-date information on how to manage treatment and lifestyle issues.

Through this exciting new partnership, CRUK’s invaluable library of expert information for people affected by cancer is now live and easily accessible within the Vinehealth app. Alongside Cancer Research UK, Vinehealth is delighted to be able to reach an even wider patient community to support as many people living with cancer as possible with vital information and best-in-class self-management tools. By using technology, together CRUK and Vinehealth are helping to revolutionise the cancer pathway and ultimately support improved patient outcomes.

Dr Julie Sharp, Head of Health Information at Cancer Research UK, said: “Receiving a cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming and can bring about so many questions, so it’s really important that people affected by cancer and their families are able to access high-quality information to help navigate this. We are delighted to be able to work together with Vinehealth to help reach even more people with our vital information, which covers all aspects of cancer including diagnosis, treatment, clinical trials, and coping with the disease.”

Georgina Kirby, Co-Founder Vinehealth - "We have seen firsthand the power that technology has to support patients remotely, which in the current climate is vital. Vinehealth delivers thoughtful technology that delivers value for people living with cancer. Partnering with Cancer Research UK to enable more patient-centric care is a fundamental step towards further enriching the Vinehealth ecosystem and providing resources for as many oncology patients as possible"

Vinehealth is a free app for patients with any type of cancer and is available for download from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
